Paul Bernhard, Graphic Design. Hello! Back in 1986 I was born in Munich, Germany, the same place where I started and finished my first 3 years of studies in graphic design. For now I switched to Amsterdam to continue studying at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. As a graphic designer, I focus mainly on books, magazines, identities, posters, everything printable, websites.

Here's Your Punchline
Filed under "A coalition of the vulgar avantgarde, museum educators and witty artists has brought into the world the idea (which is not entirely new) that, since Duchamp, the goal of art has been to deliver a punch line" (Diedrich Diederichsen). This book features 10 famous artworks with each of them textual concentrated to its punchline. Explode Into Space



Filed under "Explode Into Space" is the journey of a man to another planet, taking place in 1986. On 176 pages, the spectator gathers bit by bit informations about the protagonist's residence and its personality, shown per photography, text and images. In principle, "Explode Into Space" is a photographically illustrated book, documenting the dry observations of a travelling man from the year 1986. Story, photography, graphic design, writing and everything else in this book is made by Paul Bernhard. 
Kalender Jahr









Filed under "Kalender Jahr" is an abstract-graphical view on the progress of one year. On 377 pages, it animates different themes of astronomy, living, weather, nature and humanity. Hung up, the pages can be flipped down day by day, guiding the animation through the proceeding year. 
Metropol Theater



Filed under New identity for a theater based in Munich. The Metropol Theater is a little playhouse celebrated by audience and critics. Always questing to bring up new plays, it convinces with a creative use of its stage and very good acting. This project contains the creation of a complete new identity and its realisation on the theater's media. Such as tickets, playing schedule, posters, etc. 
Afri Cola


Filed under Image Spots for the german softdrink "Afri Cola". With calm pictures, these spots reflect a raw way of enjoyment and constitute an opposition to present-day's highspeed life and advertising. 
Prototype


Filed under "Prototype" is a book about superheroes. Within 76 pages it features 10 bravers, including their biographies, comparative values and sidekicking hero-facts. Heroes featured in this book are Batman, Silver Surfer, Wonder Woman, Hulk, Superman, Plastic Man, Spider-Man, Green Lantern, The Flash and Iron Man.
